　　元器件交易網訊 5月7日消息，據外媒報道，ARM近日表示20美元（約合125元人民幣）智能機將在數月內推出。

　　在這個世界并非所有人都能負擔起智能機，哪怕是中興25美元的火狐手機。一個家庭可能僅有一部諾基亞105。但ARM認為智能機將很快普及全人類，20美元的安卓手機將在未來幾個月內推出。芯片設計師表示，現有制造技術已無法將成本壓到更低。

　　為縮減成本而制造出的硬件自然無法與高價智能機競爭，20美元的智能機不得不采用單核Cortex-A5處理器和2.5G無線數據。此外，49美元的BLU Dash將采用雙核處理器。這種谷底價將把移動網絡帶給所有人，社交網絡和網絡訪問將不再受限。（元器件交易網毛毛  編譯）

　　In some corners of the world, even startersmartphones like the ZTE Open are too costly; basic cellphones such as theNokia 105 thrive in areas where whole families can only afford one device.However, ARM believes that smartphones will soon be within reach of just aboutanyone. While it's possible to make a $25 Firefox OS phone today, ARM nowexpects to see a $20 Android phone within the "next few months." Itmight not actually be possible to go cheaper using current manufacturingtechniques, the chip designer says.

　　This extra-frugal hardware won't competeagainst most budget phones, let alone a range-topping device like the GalaxyS5. The $20 smartphone will have to use a single-core Cortex-A5 processor and2.5G (read: EDGE) wireless data; for reference, the $49 BLU Dash uses adual-core chip. Performance isn't the point, though. A rock-bottom price shouldbring sophisticated mobile computing to an audience that previously had to makedo with calls and text messages -- social networks and the modern mobile webwill no longer be off-limits.
